I walk beside others as they are called to go deeper in their personal relationship with God in Contemplative Prayer practices with Holy Disciplines as Rules of Life as they are called to practice.

I love to meet with those who feel God's invitation into deeper relationship; who long for a more vital relationship with the Divine; who seek to live evermore faithfully. I am a Christian Quaker who welcomes seekers from all faith traditions. My background includes a master's degree in spiritual formation and leadership; Shalem Institute's Spiritual Guidance Program; and School of the Spirit's Spiritual Nurture Program. I lead retreats that are contemplative and experiential. I also provide spiritual direction supervision. I am accessible to those in Greenville, North Carolina. I think of spiritual direction as deep listening to stories of the soul. I love the variety of ways that God speaks in and through the lives of other people. In retreat settings I empower people to appreciate their own understanding and practice of prayer through creative expression.

"Beckoned"

When I see a path,
I want to go exploring.
What is down that road?

Beckoned forth, I go,
Into the woods of my soul.
Wow! God is everywhere!

Heather Harriss serves as the pastor of Spiritual Care and Connection at Belmont UMC in Nashville TN. She received her certification for Spiritual Direction from the Haden Institute. As a spiritual companion she loves the opportunity to be with people as they explore and experience where God is at work in their life and in their heart. Spiritual practices that shape her ministry include lectio divina, centering prayer, dreams, creative expression and walking the labyrinth.

I help others find and strengthen their relationship with God through designing worship, offering weekly body-mind-spirit balancing classes, Spiritual Direction for individuals and groups. I have a special gift for coaching individuals at end of life and supporting their families in grieving.

Originally trained in the Perkins 2-year program in 2012-2013 and returned in 2018 for third year practicum followed by specialized supervisory training. Continue to work in the program as a small group leader for practicum on instructor for introductory class. Active in the retreat life of Mount Eagle (Clinton AR) and in supervising Perkins students as part of the spiritual direction program. Active as a director for individuals and groups as well as supervision of Peer groups. Continuing education in adaptive and interim training at Perkins and the completion of course work for certificate in practical ministry and spiritual formation. Nominated to serve as Conference Lay Servant Director starting July 1, 2023.

I worked with a Spiritual Director for several years before enrolling in the Pneuma Institute, which embraces folks from numerous Christian backgrounds. I have learned so much from my sisters and brothers from other faith traditions.
I serve a two church Charge in Johnstown, one of the poorest cities in Pennsylvania. My passion is for working with individuals and small groups, encouraging them to become more deeply rooted in their faith. I yearn for the parishioners to grow into the people they were created to be. I love to encourage folks to engage in different prayer forms, which involve all their senses. Most of my spiritual direction is done in the context of my appointment, but I do work with a few individuals from outside the Charge.

Focus as a retreat leader includes prayer, transitions in life, books of the Bible, grieving, and understanding spiritual gifts and how to use the gifts.

Jan holds a Masters degree in Child Development & Family Relations (counseling) and another in Learning Disabilities (education). She has had a diverse career beginning as a kindergarten teacher and concluding with her most recent position as Executive Director of Promise Place, the nonprofit sexual assault resource center in New Bern, NC. Her work in community colleges, family court and mediation programs, mental health centers and private practice were all critical experiences as she began to turn her attention to deepening spirituality. Jan is a trained spiritual director, completing the program at Sursum Corda in South Carolina. She also completed the UMC General Board of Higher Education Ministry’s Certification in Spiritual Formation at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. Jan is now has a part-time private practice specializing in spiritual direction and trauma therapy. She is a Stephen Ministry Leader at Centenary UMC in New Bern, NC where she lives

I'm a retired Elder after 40 years under appointment in the WNCC. In 2016 I completed a two year course in Spiritual Direction through the Haden Institute. I believe in the power of Holy Listening to help people hear what the Spirit is saying to them.

I am a retired United Methodist clergy leader, spiritual coach, and scholar of Howard Thurman. With degrees in theology and East–West psychology, he integrates pastoral care, contemplative practice, and intercultural awareness in his work. As co-founder of the Center for Intentional Inclusive Community, he helps individuals and groups grow in spiritual depth and social healing. His ministry and teaching draw from diverse traditions, guiding others toward authenticity, inclusion, and wholeness of spirit.

As an ordained American Baptist pastor, who graduated from the Franciscan School of Theology and now serves at a United Methodist retreat center, I have a wide range of theological understanding and spiritual experience in the Christian contemplative tradition. From an evangelical background to now a Richard Rohr proclivity, I hold a more inclusive embrace of the Divine as I recognize the presence of God in everyone and everything. With doctoral studies in Franciscan ecological spirituality, I find Christ especially close in nature as I help others discover their True Self. Although I may be a "Rev. Dr.", I am just a seeker who enjoys companioning people on the journey. I am a trained spiritual director through the Gateways to God program at Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center, and have been in direction myself for nearly 20 years. A native Californian and American-born Asian, I've been in Massachusetts since 2017 and I run so I can eat chocolate and not feel guilty.

I have my MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1980.
Was ordained Deacon in 1978 in the SW Texas Annual Conference and Elder in 1981 in the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference.

Through deep listening and gentle questioning, with silence and with prayer, in spiritual practices and Scripture, I offer adults a Holy-Spirited space to pour out their hearts to God. As we dwell together in God’s embrace, I assist directees to open their hearts to God’s compassionate response. My ministry of spiritual direction and retreat leadership is grounded in extensive learning through Journey Partners spiritual direction training, the spiritual formation certification programs of the United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry and the Institute for Discipleship, and more than two decades as a practitioner. An ordained United Methodist deacon, I was an editor and essayist for the anthology, Embodied Spirits: Stories of Spiritual Directors of Color. In addition, I offer the online course, “Abiding in Christ Together: Creating Gospel-Centric Retreats, at www.BeADisciple.com. I am currently offering spiritual direction on Zoom.
