Debra Dickerson lives in Hixson, TN, a suburb of Chattanooga, with her husband Riley and their teenager Charlie. She has an MA in Spanish from SUNY Stony Brook and a Certificate in Christian Studies from the EXL online program at Asbury Theological Seminary. She taught Spanish and French for 24 years prior to pursuing seminary studies. She graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with the M. Div. in May 2015 and was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the Holston Conference in June 2015. Her first appointment is co-pastor of the Holston GaP Parish in the Chattanooga District. Debra was a participant in Academy #32 (bilingual) and enjoyed the rhythm of the 2 year Academy, along with the multicultural perspective. She has taught the Lay Speaker course “Growing Spiritually Through Daily Discipline” online through BeADisciple.com. Debra enjoys writing, photography and being outdoors hiking, walking, or on the motorcycle.
