Easter was a few days ago. With Easter comes the reminder that life is sacred, and God has the last word. When the women went to the tomb, the tomb was empty. God raised Jesus and Jesus lives. Life defeated death. Love defeated hate.
I heard an analogy a few days ago to baseball. In baseball when the game goes into extra innings, the home team always gets the last word. Even if the visiting team scores, the game doesn’t end. The home team gets the chance to come back.
With the rules of baseball, our home team gets the last word. The last word is God’s. Love gets the last word over hate, and violence, and retaliation. We may see hate and violence and retaliation all around us, but the final word is still to come. Love will conquer all. Our life is sacred every day and we give thanks for God’s last word.
